For decades, the central focus of Southern Hills UMC has been service to others. We firmly believe in being a community church. That means partnering with McClure Elementary School through mentoring and beyond; serving the South Peoria Neighborhood through food, clothing, and more; and helping the Greater Tulsa community in various ways. Throughout his ministry, Jesus spoke of building a new kind of community, one based on love, grace, and interconnectedness. That is the community we seek, and which we spend our time and resources building.
We offer a place for everybody to be part of our family. We offer an intimate experience of worship and community and a chance to be part of something larger than yourself. At Southern Hills you can play a role in God's mission to our church, our community, and our world. God is doing amazing things in this church, come and be a part of them!
For nearly two decades people have come to know Southern Hills UMC as the “Pumpkin Church.” This October, come visit us in the “Patch” and help support our Mission programs. We offer all sizes of pumpkins and other fall decorative items at great prices (especially when you consider where the money is going!). We also have plenty of places for kids to laugh and play and story time in the mornings. If your group would like to take part in story time, call the church office at 918-743-2013 for reservations.

First and foremost we are disciples, those who sit at the feet of our teacher, Jesus Christ, and follow His footsteps. Because we are disciples, we believe in learning for a lifetime. We have several education opportunities in the form of Sunday school classes for people of all ages, regular Bible studies (both long-term and short-term), and small groups. Every one of our classes is open to newcomers, so find the one that fits you best!
Friendship Class
This long-established class has a relaxed atmosphere with great fellowship. They read Scripture and discuss along the way. The fellowship extends to a pot-luck dinner on the 2nd Friday of each month at 6:30pm...everyone is welcome!
Wesleyan Class
Led by an experienced teacher with an excellent style, this class discusses a wide-range of Bible based topics using a variety of literature as a guide. Like the founder of Methodism after which it is named, this group always seeks "Scriptural holiness."
Rock and Roll Class
Established by a group of friends hungry for short-term contemporary studies, this diverse group discusses relevant issues to our time and our lives in faith. This group is always welcome to new perspectives...especially yours!
Young Adult Class
This "emerging" group wrestles with the issues relevant to the lives of young people in our time, using Scripture, DVD series (Nooma, etc.), and the wisdom of the group. We gather for food, fellowship, and discussions of faith every 2nd and 4th Sunday at the Parsonage.

Do you like to sing? Do you like to make a joyful noise? We'd love to have you in our choir! We don't hold auditions. Your willingness to sing is the only requirement. We need those who are willing to come and learn some anthems and help praise God in song on Sunday mornings.
If you would like to be a part of a wonderful group and have lots of fun, come on Wednesday nights at 7:00. We practice in the sanctuary. See you there.
